The Hammers have had an outstanding start to the new campaign, much to the surprise of many, including even some West Ham fans. The team is presently placed fourth in the Premier League table after its first four games.
After their opening-day stalemate with Bournemouth, David Moyes has led his team to victory over Chelsea, Brighton, and Luton Town.
This outstanding start has undoubtedly been aided by the club’s successful summer transfer window, which saw the acquisition of Konstantinos Mavropanos, Mohammed Kudus, Edson Alvarez, and James Ward-Prowse.
The Hammers paid a total of £122.6 million, according to Sky Sports (2 September), to lure these players to East London. With their London rivals Chelsea far ahead of the pack thanks to their £434.5 million investment, the amount places the club at eighth on the list of Premier League clubs.
The eighth spot on such a list is by no means the worst place to be, but it does put a lot of pressure on West Ham to perform well in all competitions over the upcoming months.
Unfortunately for Moyes and his team, the season will only become harder from this point on because the club’s Europa League campaign will soon begin.

Last season, the Hammers initially struggled to compete on all fronts for several months before finally getting things going. This could have been due to a lack of squad depth or simply a lack of talent.
At the London Stadium, the season came to a joyful conclusion as the team won the Europa Conference League and ensured their place in the Premier League.
However, it appeared for a while that the Hammers would have to pick one over the other, which is a scenario that fans do not want to repeat this time around.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have a new hero after startling statistics from the Premier League were discovered following the team’s recent victory over Luton.
