According to sources cited by Football Insider, Tottenham now has a chance to sign Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo, who is out of favor with the club.

The 25-year-old was coveted by Spurs, who were up against AS Monaco for his services, but a last-minute transfer fell through, and he stayed at Craven Cottage.

The fact that Adarabioyo is in the final year of his contract and is thought to have damaged relationships at Fulham would make it challenging for him to reenter the lineup.

Football Insider reported on August 21 of last year that Fulham was looking to add a new center-back and was preparing for the Englishman to go this summer.

Adarabioyo eventually stayed in London after Monaco had a bid for him denied.

Prior to recently, the center back had been working out by himself. This season, he has only played as a substitute after being omitted from the matchday squad for the first two games.

Adarabioyo joined Fulham in 2020 after graduating from the Man City academy, and the club activated an extension in January of this year to keep him there through the summer.

    Tottenham

The defender has made 108 appearances for Fulham in all competitions since moving to London. In those games, he has scored three goals and provided two assists.

Last season, Abarabioyo was a mainstay for Marco Silva’s team. He made 29 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal, during a campaign in which they finished an excellent tenth in the Premier League.

In related news, a Tottenham star appears to be close to a January transfer.

Tosin Adarabioyo, a defender who plays for Fulham in the Premier League, may be available for move to Tottenham in the January transfer window.

The 25-year-old center back was a target for Ange Postecoglou during the summer transfer season, especially after a deal to join Monaco of France fell through.

However, Adarabioyo is being left out in the cold under Marco Silva after a late escape from Craven Cottage fell through.

According to Football Insider, the large defender, who is in the final year of his contract, burned his bridges at Fulham, making it difficult for him to reenter the team.

Last month, it was asserted that Fulham was preparing for Adarabioyo’s departure and searching for replacements in the market.

The player stayed in west London, though, after Spurs’ offer fell through and Monaco’s proposal was rejected.

According to Football Insider, Adarabioyo has been training by himself up until recently and has only played as a substitute once this season after being left off the matchday squad for their first two games.

Adarabioyo first came to Fulham from Manchester City’s youth in 2020, and in January of this year, the club activated an extension to keep him at Craven Cottage through the next summer.

The defender has played 108 times for Fulham in all competitions since his arrival, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

    Abarabioyo set for January transfer

Abarabioyo was a regular starter for Marco Silva’s team last season, but it now appears that he will be leaving in January, with Tottenham the clear favorites to sign him.

Due to the fact that Eric Dier is still not in Postecoglou’s plans and Davinson Sanchez was allowed to leave to Turkey this week, the north London team has several gaps at center back.

Has James Maddison been acquired by Tottenham as the summer’s top acquisition?
James Maddison, who Tottenham may have acquired, might be the summer’s top acquisition.

That leaves only Ben Davies and summer signing Ashley Phillips as back up to Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.

Tottenham are back in action on September 16 when they host Sheffield United in the Premier League, while Fulham welcome Luton on the same day.
