ANGE POSTECOGLOU’S first game in charge of Tottenham Hotspur resulted in a loss.
After the former Celtic manager’s team lost to West Ham 3-2, Spurs supporters were all pointing out the same thing.
Postecoglou, 57, resigned from Parkhead at the end of the previous season to accept the position in North London.
After leading the Hoops to a triple in his second and final season in command, he left having won five of the six domestic titles that were up for grabs.
Apart from winning trophies, Celtic supporters have enjoyed Postecoglou’s all-action brand of play, known as “Angeball,” for the previous two years.
And the preseason match between Tottenham and West Ham in Perth, Australia, wasn’t at all dull as the two London rivals squared off.
In games involving Postecoglou’s sides, goals were essentially a given. If his stint at Celtic taught him anything, it was that.
The number present was FIVE.
Danny Ings and Divin Mubama scored for West Ham early in the first half to make it 2-0. Giovani Lo Celso and Destiny Ugodige then scored twice in a three-minute span to tie the score.
Gianluca Scamacca’s 78th-minute goal for the Hammers and manager David Moyes, though, gave them the victory.

At the sound of the final whistle, there were obviously a few thoughts on the minds of the majority of Spurs supporters.
First of all, Postecoglou’s fashion seemed impressive at first glance.
During the game, Spurs had a staggering 31 shots compared to West Ham’s 5.
This brings to the second topic that all Spurs supporters were discussing: strengthening the defense.
A supporter wrote: “Result is unimportant. I haven’t seen Spurs play so well in a very long time.
“Give Ange one, just one, world class centre back and we will win a trophy 100 per-cent.”
“Very promising moving forward,” said another. I need defenders.
Another participant stated: “Genuinely enjoyed that more than any competitive Spurs game for the last three years.”
Someone else commented, “This was his first game. Think about how good Spurs will play in three months.
Five hopeful people chimed in, “Two new center backs and it will be perfect,”
This weekend, Postecoglou will have another 90 minutes with his new team.
