TalkSPORT reports that Gallagher is now amenable to agreeing to a new contract at Stamford Bridge. Over the summer, the Blues let go of several young players, with Mason Mount being the most high-profile departure to Manchester United.

Both Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were sold, but it appears that Gallagher might elude Chelsea’s in-house purge.

According to TalkSPORT, Chelsea was genuinely enticed to let go of Gallagher for about £50 million during the summer.

However, Gallagher seems to be a favorite of Mauricio Pochettino, who has started him in each Premier League game this year.

This season, Gallagher has even occasionally led Chelsea as captain, and the Blues now appear prepared to begin negotiations for a new contract.

It is hardly surprising to learn that Gallagher, a lifelong Chelsea supporter, would now choose to remain in West London.

With a little more than 18 months remaining on his contract until the 23-year-old’s contract expires in 2025, Chelsea is prepared to guarantee Gallagher’s future in the long run.

Tottenham Hotspur look set to miss out on Conor Gallagher again

Late in the summer transfer window, Tottenham put a lot of effort into trying to sign Gallagher.

On the day of the deadline, the London Evening Standard published reports claiming Spurs had made a £40 million offer for Gallagher. Although Chelsea demanded £50 million, no deal was reached, but the rumors have persisted ahead of the January transfer window opening.

Earlier this month, 90Min hinted that Tottenham thought Gallagher would want to relocate to North London in the event that he was to leave Chelsea. Spurs’ interest may have ended with these contract negotiations, though, as Ange Postecoglou and company are expected to miss out.
