The fact that Jarrod Bowen did not start for England against Italy would not have surprised even one West Ham fan.

Despite the fact that the Hammers’ leading scorer Bowen is a ready-made replacement and Bukayo Saka isn’t on the team.

But West Ham supporters might have thought that their star attacker would have been added with the Three Lions leading 3-1 and seemingly in control.

Scamacca performance does more to vindicate Moyes opinion and decision

After being traded to Atalanta in the summer after just one season with West Ham, former striker Scamacca was back in the Big Smoke.

All of you are aware of the past. The move, however, did not turn out as well as he or the Hammers had intended, to cut a long story short.

The player and Moyes were both disappointed with Scamacca’s ailments, injuries, and the obvious lack of knowledge about the type of striker he is and what he would provide to the squad.

The Italian with the perpetual frown, according to Moyes, is someone he wants to keep. But the Scot said that the 24-year-old had refused to undergo injury rehabilitation in England and simply did not want to be at West Ham.

The Hammers boss spoke out publicly about Scamacca’s lack of fitness and workrate on more than one occasion last season.

He claimed that the striker needed to contribute more to the team when given the chance to play because he could not keep up for 90 minutes.

As soon as Scamacca nearly gave Italy the lead with a tap-in from a few yards out, the commentators couldn’t wait to portray West Ham as stupid for selling him.

But in actuality, he only provided Italy with a few subsequent clumsy jabs. With 30 minutes remaining in the game, he offered little to the squad and was somewhat predictably replaced.

Nobody should be misled despite Scamacca’s goal at Wembley, which was his first for Italy. Compared to those who believe West Ham abandoned up on him too soon, his performance offered additional proof that Moyes’ remarks and choice to sell him were justified.

What’s the bright side to everything? Prior to West Ham’s return to Premier League play at Aston Villa this Sunday, Bowen has had ample rest and was not placed in danger of harm.

We can only hope that our new talisman uses Southgate’s old team to vent any anger at England.
