Pundit blasts Tottenham for selling the best right-back in the world for a very ‘ridiculous’ amount

The world’s top right-back in his position, according to pundits, was sold by Spurs for a mere £20 million.

Kieran Trippier is presently the top right-back in the world, according to Don Hutchinson.

After moving from Burnley to Spurs in the summer of 2015, Trippier played for the team for four seasons, becoming a premier right-back throughout that time and earning a spot in the England squad.

But in his last season with Spurs, he suffered a serious decline, with Mauricio Pochettino’s team losing multiple times due to his defensive errors.

After all, Trippier only paid £20 million (BBC) to join Atletico Madrid, where he learned from Diego Simeone to become a better defensive player and contributed significantly to the team’s 2020–21 championship victory.

Did Tottenham sell Kieran Trippier far too early?

With his January 2018 move to Newcastle United, the former Tottenham player has established himself as one of the league’s best right-backs.

Referring to the Magpies star as the best player in the world for his position, Hutchinson placed him in his Team of the Season thus far. He said to ESPN FC, “Trippier is the best right-back in world football.”

Along with James Maddison, Destiny Udogie, and Micky van de Ven, the analyst picked three other Spurs players in the starting eleven.

In retrospect, we might conclude that Pochettino erred in allowing the England international to leave back in 2019. Tripper has undoubtedly advanced greatly over the past few years.

Jack Grealish heard chanting £15m Tottenham player’s name after England game this week

During England’s celebrations after qualifying for the Euros this week, Jack Grealish of Manchester City was reportedly heard screaming the name of Destiny Udogie, the full-back for Tottenham Hotspur.

As a group of England players celebrated at a bar following Tuesday’s victory against Italy, James Maddison and Jack Grealish reportedly “raised a glass” to Udogie, according to The Sun.

Despite Italy’s 3-1 loss, Udogie made his debut as a starter on Tuesday night and gave an outstanding performance.

Gianfranco Zola, a Chelsea great, praised the 20-year-old throughout the match, calling his performance “fantastic.”

Eventually, after receiving a yellow card in the first half, Federico Dimarco took his place shortly after the hour.

However, Udogie made an impression in his first competitive start for the Italians following a positive start to life at Tottenham. And based on what he seen from the young player, it appears that Grealish of Manchester City was impressed.

During England’s celebrations, a Grealish person yells Udogie’s name.

According to The Sun, Maddison and Grealish were part of an England team that left to celebrate earning a spot in the Euros the following year.

Maddison and Grealish are reported to have toasted Udogie with glasses during the festivities and even yelled his name.

A few years ago, Grealish was on the verge of signing a contract with Tottenham, but it fell through when he was still at Aston Villa.

After winning a treble with City the previous season, the Englishman went on to become the most expensive British player.

The news that Grealish and Maddison were chanting Udogie’s name following England’s victory is undoubtedly one of the day’s more unexpected developments.

But this season, the young player has performed admirably while wearing a Tottenham shirt, and Maddison would have been well aware of the £15 million player’s potential beforehand. It seems that Grealish is a fan of the gifted Spurs full-back as well.
