Journalist says £100k-a-week Spurs player ‘likely’ to leave in January as Coach Postecoglou ready to release him

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is “likely” to depart in January, according to Paul Brown, and Ange Postecoglou is willing to sell.

Paul Brown reports that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, a midfielder for Tottenham Hotspur, is “quite likely” to depart the team during the January transfer window.

The journalist thinks it’s “clear,” as he puts it on GiveMeSport, that the Tottenham star is willing to leave, but he might need to reach a compromise.

According to Brown, most of the teams interested in the Denmark international are just thinking about a loan switch, but Spurs are looking for a permanent deal for the player.

Amidst ties with teams like Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, and Fulham, Hojbjerg’s Tottenham future appeared questionable in the summer.

The 28-year-old did, however, decide to remain with Spurs. He has made nine appearances so far this season, and he performed admirably against Fulham on Monday. How much more regular playing time Hojbjerg receives is still to be seen, especially now that Yves Bissouma has completed his one-match suspension.

‘Not going to get a lot of minutes’

Brown seemed certain that the player will continue to consider a possible winter trade even if he made his debut on Monday.

Indeed, Brown stated, “I believe that Hojbjerg will most likely leave.”The issue he has is that most teams interested in him are only prepared to consider a loan, while Spurs are seeking a permanent agreement.

“Spurs still believe he’s worth at least £30 million, and I don’t think any team would pay that much for him, at least not in January.

It is obvious that he would be amenable to a transfer, and he is aware that the boss at Spurs will not give him many playing opportunities.

Therefore, it could be beneficial for all parties to find a solution here.

Transfer rumors are sure to start swirling whenever a player who was formerly a consistent starter finds himself on the bench.

Given that Hojbjerg is used to starting every game when healthy and Tottenham doesn’t appear to be able to provide him with that, he might try to go.

Salarysport, who earns £100,000 per week, is an excellent player, but there is currently intense rivalry for spots in the Spurs midfield.

When healthy, Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma are unstoppable, and Rodrigo Bentancur will return shortly as well. Hojbjerg might be moved down the hierarchy as a result of this.
