Journalist describes the kind of forward Ange Postecoglou is looking to sign in January
After Harry Kane was linked to Tottenham during the summer and went on to clinch a big-money move to Bayern Munich, all eyes in the football world were on the team.
Several people believed Spurs would attempt to get a new striker to replace Kane after his departure. Nevertheless, that did not occur, as Ange Postecoglou chose to use his current players to cover the gap.
Early in the season, Richarlison was the man in the middle of the line, but now Tottenham captain Heung-min Son is starting at number nine. For now, Son is doing a great job of erasing Kane from Spurs supporters’ memories. Even though Son has scored seven goals so far this season, there is still conjecture that the North London club may sign a new forward in the January transfer window.
Could Spurs swoop for Akturkoglu?
Dean Jones discussed his thoughts on Tottenham’s purported interest in Kerem Akturkoglu in an interview with GiveMeSport. He also stated that he wouldn’t be shocked to see a transfer happen in the new year.
“They are currently trying to scout quite a few players, Tottenham, that are just capable of adding another attacking edge to their team,” he stated. According to a number of sources, they are scouting [Kerem Akturkoglu].
Although I haven’t heard it firsthand, it seems to match exactly what I’ve been told they are searching for.
Instead of seeking a pure striker, they’re searching for a different guy who can operate in and around that front line. It’s someone to be cautious of, especially while Galatasaray is competing in the Champions League.
Several goals have been scored by Akturkoglu this season, one of which came in the Champions League against Manchester United. I can absolutely understand why Spurs would be interested, and if he keeps playing this well, I believe our interest will grow.
