RG Snyman is embroiled in a contentious, racially tinged tattoo issue
The Springboks’ heroics during the Rugby World Cup, which culminated in their triumph over the All Blacks to win the William Webb Ellis trophy for a record-tying fourth time, have been the buzz of Mzansi for the past few weeks.
This time, though, the Springboks have found themselves in the center of a contentious controversy following the viral release of a photo purportedly featuring the late Afrikaner nationalist Eugene Terre’Blanche, a tattoo on big lock RG Snyman, according to certain X users.
@AlienMzansi tweeted, “I hate to agree with Malema, but this dude literally has a tattoo of Eugene Terre’blanche 🤔😩😩😩.”
The post immediately started making the rounds and has thus far been viewed over half a million times.
At first, people quickly joined the bandwagon and attacked Bok for having the tattoo. It soon became apparent, meanwhile, that the tattoo was not one of the contentious Terre’Blanche.
Additionally, a snapshot of a post by tattoo artist Tony that featured a close-up of the tattoo and the story behind it has gone viral on X.

Many people have criticized @AlienMzanis in the comments section of his initial post for disseminating false information.
“Don’t you guys get sick of using the race card all the time 😩” You manufacture what you can’t find to weep over because you are so desperate for anything to cry about,” tweeted @leraton_.
“You guys have been so desperate to be woke and have some Steve Biko moment here on Twitter ever since the Springboks won.”
