Matt Law Gives Update On When The “Extraordinary” Tottenham Player Could Be Well Enough To Recuperate From Painful Injury

After having to play with nine men at the end of the match, Tottenham Hotspur’s devastating 4-1 loss to Chelsea marked their first Premier League defeat of the 2023–24 campaign. But when summer signing Micky van de Ven was hurt during the game, things got even worse. Tottenham Hotspur Set To Miss Micky Van de Ven For Multiple Months

When Could Van de Ven Return From Injury?

Tottenham 'target new defender in January' amid fears Micky van de Ven could be out for MONTHS with a hamstring injury after pulling up in defeat to Chelsea | Daily Mail Online

Two of the Lilywhites’ defenders, Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie, were sent off during the match against Chelsea. But Micky van de Ven, the summer signing, may have suffered the worst blow when he appeared to suffer a serious hamstring injury.

After taking a knock during the game, Matt Law of The Telegraph has announced that he will be sidelined for an extended period of time. The Dutchman won’t need surgery, but “estimates suggest” that he won’t be back until January, the report continues. The reporter claims, though, that Spurs have not yet determined a firm timeline for his absence and have postponed the scans necessary to determine the full severity of the injury.

It is further stated that Tottenham might have to search for a new center back by using the January transfer window. Eric Dier is expected to fill in for Van van Ven, according to Law, but the North London giants are anticipated to compile a list of potential targets for the winter window.

Tottenham Suffering From Major Injury Crisis

Van de Ven’s injury is not the only one that the Lilywhites are dealing with, unfortunately. In addition to Richarlison, who will require surgery due to an injury, Ange Postecoglou also took a hit. James Maddison, who is questionable for the forthcoming game against Wolves, also had to leave the game against Chelsea due to some issues.

Aside from that, Ivan Perisic will miss the majority of the season due to a knee injury, making him a long-term absence. Having said that, Spurs will feel the loss of their valuable player Van van de Ven, who was praised as “extraordinary” the previous campaign and helped them maintain four clean sheets in their first 11 Premier League games.
