David Moyes, the manager of West Ham United, has received a clear message from Konstantinos Mavropanos regarding Divin Mubama.
On Saturday away at Burnley, Divin Mubama played for more than thirty minutes under West Ham manager David Moyes.
In winning 2-1 against the Clarets, the 19-year-old was a key player in the Hammers’ comeback from a 1-0 deficit. When he celebrated the equalizer, he gave Moyes a very clear message.
In direct response to anything the Scot said about Obama, Konstantinos Mavropanos is now the one reaching out to Moyes (see below).
Mubama is only 19 years old, as the West Ham boss reminded us a few days ago. This was reported by BBC SPORT:
“We would like to play him, but how many center-forwards in the Premier League are 19 years old?” Due to the role’s difficulty and the intense competition at almost every club, it is becoming more challenging. He has the same mindset and disposition as any elite athlete. He puts in a ton of effort and is really dedicated to the team. He is only 19 years old, thus we need him to improve his behaviors and technical proficiency.
But Dinos views the situation rather differently.
Mavropanos has message for David Moyes about Divin Mubama
It’s obvious that the Greek center back believes that “if you’re good enough, you’re old enough.”
And when he addressed the official West Ham website, he was extremely explicit about that:
“Watching Divin score is incredibly enjoyable. I believe he really wanted it, and it was significant for him to step up and contribute to the team’s crucial goal. He is endowed with many virtues. In addition to having the ball in his feet and enjoying running in behind, he also has excellent finishing ability. He puts in a lot of effort and is a talented player. The age is not the sole factor. It’s always beneficial to play against him in training because of his quality.
I completely correct Dinos. Why is Moyes constantly bringing up Muhammad’s age when he has demonstrated that he is talented enough to mix it at the highest level?
The fact that he is only 19 doesn’t matter because he has proven himself to be excellent enough to earn a spot in the senior Scot starting lineup.
Danny Ings should never start a game for the Hammers again, Moyes is certain of that now. Honestly, I don’t want him to be anywhere close to the squad at all!
If Michael Antonio returns to full health, I think Mubama will be able to play a consistent role for West Ham.
David Moyes must start looking at Divin Mubama as a first-team player, rather than a 19-year-old. Age is meaningless in this situation as far as I’m concerned.
