Ange Postecoglou is not messing round with January around the corner…
Due to Tottenham Hotspur’s recent string of unfortunate injuries, it appears that Ange Postecoglou has already been in touch with a promising new target in advance of the January transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur’s injuries…
Similar to many Premier League teams, Tottenham has suffered from yet another demanding schedule involving their players. As a result, Postecoglou’s squad is being pushed to the breaking point as the Australian seeks to make up for many absences on the team.
Currently out with injuries are James Maddison, Rodrigo Bentancur, Micky Van de Ven, Ivan Perisic, Manor Solomon, Ryan Sessegnon, and Eric Dier, which leaves the Lilywhites without several of its main players as the holiday season approaches.
Talismanic figure Son Heung-min limped off in Spurs’ 2-1 defeat against West Ham United on Thursday; however, Postecoglou and company could be keen to ensure the South Korea international is fit to play a crucial role for his current employers, who are embroiled in a race for Champions League qualification.
Spurs have reportedly been in touch with the target who best matches that description and informed his present club of their interest in him.
Tottenham contact Crystal Palace over Marc Guehi
Tottenham has reportedly expressed interest in signing Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, with the center-back being watched as a possible defensive reinforcement in N17. This information is according to Football Insider.

The England international is also a target for Manchester United, but Crystal Palace will only contemplate a deal that comes with a payment of about £60 million. Additionally, the source claims that the Red Devils would be prepared to give the 23-year-old £45 million; however, it is unknown how much Spurs would be ready to spend on the former Chelsea player.
Despite the Eagles’ inconsistent results in the English premier league, Guehi has been a vital member of the team this season, making 17 appearances across all competitions (Guehi statistics – Transfermarkt).
Josef Bursik, a former England Under-21 teammate, also praised the defender’s physical makeup, calling him a “absolute tank” in 2021, according to a YouTube video reported by The Chelsea Chronicle. Guehi might be the perfect answer to the current injury problems that have plagued Tottenham’s backline in 2023–24. Tottenham needs a new center defender in January, therefore this is a game to watch.
