Nat Phillips sends “LAUDING” message to Celtic after returning to Liverpool

Now back in Liverpool, Nat Phillips has sent a message to Celtic. In order to alleviate a significant defensive injury list, Brendan Rodgers placed the central defender on a short-term loan.

Using Instagram, Phillips expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play for the team and wished them luck for the remainder of the season.

Phillips did not play for Klopp’s team in Sunday night’s FA Cup victory over Arsenal. According to reports, the Liverpool manager is thinking about keeping Phillips in his starting lineup.

Phillips made just eight appearances after moving from Anfield, performing poorly in his cameo against Hibs and contributing to the loss to Killie. The big defender did not impress and appeared uneasy after moving to Glasgow, most likely because he did not play many games.

Liam Scales, Maik Nawrocki, and the injured tandem of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Stephen Welsh are available for Brendan. Gustaf Lagerbielke can fill in for them in the interim until the injured players recover from their January break. The Scottish Champions are anticipated to make moves on Yuki Kobayashi, who is anticipated to rejoin the J-League, and Lagerbielke during the January transfer window.

    Brendan Rodgers makes goalkeeper announcement

There’s no chance Brendan Rodgers will try to sign a goalkeeper in January.

Joe Hart has hardly missed a game since leaving the Spurs in August 2021, but with his contract expiring at the end of the season and him turning 37 in April, something needs to be done about his situation soon.

With over 130 appearances for Celtic, the former England keeper has faced little real opposition from Ben Siegrist or Scott Bain.

Speaking with the Daily Record about Hart and the goalkeeping situation, Brendan Rodgers said:

It’s not something we’re currently considering. We need to focus on other areas first.

I love working with Joe; he’s a great guy, but there will be positions in the summer that we can improve on, and the same in January. I hope he keeps going.

We haven’t discussed it. I believe that at that age, he is just content to be playing. Joe’s family is in the south, so he has made a great effort to move up here.

Any team would be foolish to switch goalkeepers in the middle of the season; given the specialized nature of the role, it makes far more sense to sign a deal in the summer and give the new player time to adjust.

Goalies have been a great asset to Celtic in recent years, and Hart filled in admirably for Connor Hazard, Vasilis Barkas, and Bain at a position that had been problematic for them during the Lockdown season.
