a peek at two additional Wolverines who will be playing professionally.

The list of Michigan players leaving for the NFL has been growing throughout the week, and on Monday night, tight end AJ Barner and receiver Cornelius Johnson announced their intentions to enter the 2024 NFL Draft.

    Johnson’s assertion

Johnson, a five-year Michigan player, set career highs this season with 47 receptions and 604 receiving yards. Johnson’s season-long career high of six touchdowns came in 2022. This season, Johnson has just one touchdown. Johnson totals 2,030 yards and 14 touchdowns from 138 receptions during his time at Michigan.

    Barner’s assertion

This offseason, Barner transferred from Indiana to Michigan. He was regarded as one of the top blocking tight ends in college football and excelled as a TE2 for the Wolverines. Barner caught 22 passes for 249 yards and scored one touchdown. Barner totals 64 receptions for 610 yards and five touchdowns at the end of his college career.

Pro Blue: Nico Collins leads explosive Houston Texans offense to playoff win & other wild card performances

Collins blew up, and a few former Wolverines pitched in.

Now that the NFL playoffs have officially concluded their first round, a number of former Wolverines have made outstanding plays for their respective teams in the Wild Card round.

These are the top Pro Blue plays from the previous weekend, starting with one from a wide receiver who keeps producing huge plays.

    Nico Collins balls out again

The Houston Texans, who were among the worst teams in the NFL the previous season, have quickly improved, as they defeated the Cleveland Browns on Saturday as home underdogs.

Nico Collins, a former Michigan wide receiver who led all receivers in the game with 96 yards after catching six passes, has been a major contributor to that turnaround. Collins finished the first quarter with 100 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown reception on an end-around carry of 4 yards.

A respectable showing for your first playoff game.
