Did Isaiah Bond Ghost Kalen DeBoer Before Committing to Texas?

Isaiah Bond, the star wide receiver for the Alabama Crimson Tide, was gone as soon as Nick Saban left Tuscaloosa.

In response to a question about whether Saban’s retirement influenced his choice, Bond told ESPN, “100%.” “I decided to leave for that reason.”

As per Pete Thamel’s report on ESPN, Bond chose to disregard the efforts of Kalen DeBoer, the new Alabama coach, who reached out to the receiver upon his acceptance of the position, meaning that the Tide never had the opportunity to hire him.

To use a more accurate phrase, Bond “ghosted” DeBoer by choosing to sign with Alabama instead of going all in with Steve Sarkisian, who heavily recruited him out of Georgia’s Buford High School.

    Thamel stated:

“Bond said he reached out to Kalen DeBoer, the new coach of Alabama, but he didn’t respond.” Bond said that Sarkisian actively courted him to come to Texas after high school, and they quickly reestablished their relationship this past weekend. Sarkisian, the offensive playcaller for Texas, is regarded by him as one of the top offensive minds in college football.

Later on, Bond was spotted at Lamborghini Austin, which has NIL deals with a number of Texas athletes, including Bijan Robinson.

Right now, Texas has greatly benefited from Alabama’s loss, and the timing couldn’t have been more ideal.

After losing in the Sugar Bowl, the Horns lost their top four pass catchers—Jordan Whittington, Adonai Mitchell, Ja’Tavion Sanders, and Xavier Worthy—to the NFL Draft. Since then, they have been making every effort to replace the players’ combined 217 receptions, 3,046 yards, and 19 touchdowns.

In order to achieve that feat, Bond will now team up with fellow incoming transfer Matthew Golden, five-star freshman Ryan Wingo, incumbent players Johntay Cook II and DeAndre Moore, and possibly even more future incoming talent.

In any case, after Bond decided to make a change, Texas was the perfect place for him to settle down.

Bond told ESPN, “I like the whole package that comes with it.” “They have an excellent offensive line and a great quarterback. It seemed like a wonderful place for me to visit.”
