49ers Would Have Won Super Bowl 58, According to DeMeco Ryans
At the NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday, Ryans said to NBC Sports Bay Area, “I spoke with him before the game.” He was acting appropriately. I know it’s harsh, but I think the game would be different if they had Dre. Because of the impact plays he can make, they have Dre.
Ryans remarked, “I was just like, ‘I can’t believe this happened.'” “He was playing so well, and I know when he’s locked in because I know Dre.” He was confined. I knew the game would go well for him.
How Brock Purdy Can Help the 49ers Develop Their Offense
He doesn’t need the priciest backfield or gadget player in the NFL because he is a Pro Bowl quarterback who recently led the league in passer rating. He needs wide receivers who can get open and strong pass protection, which is a must for any elite quarterback.
This explains Purdy’s strong affinity for Brandon Aiyuk. Because Purdy knows Aiyuk will beat his man, Purdy can toss the ball before Aiyuk breaks free. Imagine if Purdy had an offensive line that allowed him to scan the field in more than two seconds, along with three wide receivers he could count on to beat man coverage.

Prediction 5: Arika Armstead will be released if he refuses to accept a pay cut and a cap number reduction.
I don’t think Armstead will be made available. In fact, I predict that he will stay with the 49ers for a few more seasons at the very least. When healthy, he can still perform at a high level and is a valued leader (see: the Super Bowl a few weeks ago). However, he hasn’t been well lately (missing five games in the previous season and eight games in 2022). It can be concerning when a 30-year-old defensive tackle begins to accumulate injuries.
The 49ers may want to reduce Armstead’s $28.3 million 2024 salary cap amount. It’s important to remember that nothing is guaranteed. There’s no doubt that the 49ers could approach Armstead with an extension offer that lowers the annual cap hit by spreading out the $28 million over a number of years.
If Armstead had objected to that wage reduction, that would make sense. If he were released, there are teams that would want him. Though some teams might be interested in trading him if it’s evident that the 49ers want to avoid paying this salary, most would likely wait for him to be cut loose.
At the NFL Scouting Combine, 49ers talk to three tight ends and others.
General manager John Lynch and his staff are in Indianapolis this week for the NFL Scouting Combine, assessing prospects ahead of April’s draft, while head coach Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers coaches are not present. Three of those that have been reported so far are tight ends.
The 49ers are said to have had conversations with Theo Johnson of Penn State, Jaheim Bell of Florida State, and Jared Wiley of TCU.
49ers and Kentucky DB Phillips will meet in person at the combine.
Phillips claimed that his skill set and attitude are a good fit for the role.
“Playing nickel felt natural to me when I first started,” he remarked. “In my first two years, I was a cornerback. I’ve never used a nickel. In my third year, they placed me at nickel, and it made sense. I feel like going inside just fit me perfectly, given how I’d been preparing over the previous years.
