Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season and take a sabbatical for management. Naturally, Liverpool have been linked with several managers and Postecoglou is reportedly a target to replace the German manager.
The 58-year-old Australian manager is a self-proclaimed Liverpool fan and he has done an impressive job in the Premier League since taking over at Tottenham. There have been links that he could be one of the candidates to replace Klopp at Liverpool but it seems that the Australian has now decided on his future.
A report from Football Insider states that Postecoglou will reject any offers to leave Tottenham this summer. He does not plan to abandon the project at the North London club and he will look to build on the good work he has done so far.
Tottenham have shown tremendous improvement under his management and they are currently pushing for Champions League qualification. They have impressed with their free-flowing attacking approach and they have also brought in some intriguing young talent.
In the upcoming seasons, Postecoglou will now want to lead them to the Champions League and assist them in winning championships. For his part, Liverpool must find a worthy successor to succeed Klopp, who has served the team admirably since joining in 2015.
Although Postecoglou’s decision will undoubtedly come as a huge shock to the Reds, the 58-year-old’s commitment to the project and desire to stay will excite Tottenham supporters.
