Roy Keane has labelled James Maddison as a ‘good fit’ for Tottenham Hotspur.
James Maddison made the £40 million transfer to north London last summer, and he has performed admirably in his first season at Spurs.
Despite missing ten league games from November to January because of an ankle injury, Maddison has emerged as this Spurs team’s creative focal point.
In his 17 league games for Spurs, the Englishman has eight assists and four goals.
At Tottenham, Maddison has become an instant fan favorite, and he recently expressed his happiness at having joined the team.
Furthermore, Roy Keane believes Maddison made the right choice in joining the Spurs in the summer.
Keane says Maddison is perfect for Tottenham
Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane shared why he believes Maddison suits Tottenham.
“He’s a good fit for Spurs,” the Manchester United legend said. “His stats over the years are very good. He’s had injuries the last few months and it’s taken a little bit longer to get up to speed.
“He’s a talented boy and looks like a bit of a personality. I like the way he’s not settling for Spurs to be fourth or fifth, he wants to get into the Champions League and win a cup.”
Maddison did appear to be the kind of player who would fit in with Spurs before he ever joined the team.
Maddison is a dynamic player who can energize the crowd and lead Tottenham to victory, continuing the tradition of great midfielders.
Even though his Spurs career is still in its early stages, he has already gained the support of the Tottenham faithful.
The Australian will be thrilled to have him back on the team as he appears to be playing a significant part in the Postecoglou project.
Maddison scored a goal in Spurs’ 4-0 victory over Aston Villa yesterday, putting them in the running for a top-four finish.
