Three Tottenham players named and shamed in ‘arrogant’ Fulham defeat as Son launches tirade against teammates

Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp slammed his old club for the ‘arrogant’ manner of their performance as they were hammered 3-0 at Fulham, with three players in particular named and shamed.

After defeating Aston Villa 4-0 the previous weekend, Spurs knew that a victory at Craven Cottage would put them above Unai Emery’s team in the top four heading into this Saturday night’s match.

With ten games remaining and the top five teams seemingly destined to make it into the Champions League the following season, a victory would have put them nine points ahead of sixth-place Manchester United.

Rather, Fulham outclassed Tottenham, with Brazilian sensation Muniz netting twice to counterbalance Sasa Lukic’s opening goal for the team.

And Sky Sports pundit Redknapp was left stunned by the lack of energy in the performance, with Destiny Udogie, James Maddison and Yves Bissouma all picked for criticism

“When I’ve watched Tottenham this season there has been so much joy in their play,” Redknapp said.

“I thought those kind of performances were a thing of the past, I didn’t think we would be seeing them again under Ange Postecoglou.

“They were off it from it from minute one. I’m looking for excuses. Yes, Van de Ven not playing is a big one because he is such an important player but there are other games when he hasn’t played and they have been fine.

“There was a lethargy about their play, there was no energy. There were players that have had big performances, Destiny Udogie, today he was so off it. Yves Bissouma in midfield, James Maddison, they never got to grips with it and won their individual battles.

“I can’t believe how energetic they seemed to me; I almost want the boss to claim there was a flu outbreak at the camp or something. They dominated them in the second half, especially considering how they played against Villa last week.

However, they entered the game with a sense of haughtiness. that we’ll show up, play, and triumph handily. That isn’t how the Premier League operates. Perhaps this is the alert he needs.

“Ange never criticizes his players, but if I were him, I would be furious and pointing fingers in that locker room, telling them we might not even make the top five if they think they’re good enough to make the top four. They need to motivate themselves once more. It

Meanwhile, skipper Son Heung-min did not hold back as he gave his own verdict on the performance.

The obviously distressed South Korean celebrity then said to Sky Sports, “It is intolerable, including me.

“Everyone must acknowledge their own faults by gazing in the mirror.

It was insufficiently good. We didn’t work as hard as we have this season. The attitude and the performance fell short.

“We all need to take a serious wake-up call.”

“We haven’t been doing anything like this this season. This is really depressing to watch. This isn’t fair to the supporters.
