Bryan Gil has had to settle for a limited role ever since he joined Tottenham Hotspur from in 2021.

Fiorentina, Real Sociedad, Feyenoord and Brighton & Hove Albion had all showed interest in the winger in the winter market but he wasn’t keen on leaving Tottenham.

That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who state the 23-year-old turned down offers from these clubs in order to continue at Spurs.

The Spain international was hoping to improve his decision at the north London club but his decision hasn’t paid off. It’s claimed Ange Postecoglou has made it clear to Gil that he’s not counting on him.

Gil has clocked in 221 minutes from 11 games this season and hasn’t featured since he came off the bench against Everton on February 3rd.

His situation has ‘gotten worse’ in recent weeks and the player’s idea is to leave Spurs in the summer. The report says Gil dreams of returning to Sevilla.

Apart from the Spaniard, Giovani Lo Celso’s future at Tottenham is also up in the air. The Argentina international has two goals and two assists from 15 games as he’s struggled with injuries this season.

That’s why Estadio state the 27-year-old midfielder’s future is also uncertain, especially considering that his deal lasts until 2025, suggesting that both could be looking for new clubs in the summer.

‘Disappointing’ – Postecoglou admits he saw something for the first time against Fulham

Ange Postecoglou has said that the clash against Fulham on Saturday was the first time that he had seen his players fail to even compete with the opposition, expressing his disappointment at the display his side delivered.

The awful performance the Lilywhites gave at Craven Cottage took both Tottenham supporters and observers by surprise.

Postecoglou’s team entered the match as overwhelming favorites and had every right to feel confident following their 4-0 victory at Villa Park.

They did not, however, exhibit the same level of urgency or intensity as they did at the West Midlands; instead, they put on a rather passive performance and looked to Fulham to roll over.

Tottenham was given a harsh reality check by Marco Silva’s team, who made it clear to the team’s younger players that they would suffer the consequences of letting up on their game.

Postecoglou was disappointed by Spurs in Fulham defeat

Postecoglou admitted that the most disappointing aspect of the performance was the fact that his players simply failed to compete for much of the second period.

The Tottenham head coach told Football London: “To be fair to the players, it’s the first time this year where I’ve felt, especially in the second half, that we just didn’t (compete).

“We’ve been incredibly competitive in every facet of the game every week, which has put us in this position. Even in our losses, I felt like we reached certain benchmarks in terms of our effort and competitiveness, and I thought that wasn’t there today, which was disappointing.”

These days, there are no easy games in the Premier League, and teams will penalize you for not giving it your all. Since Tottenham is a young, inexperienced team and will undoubtedly make mistakes along the way, it is impossible to be too hard on them.
