After the game, Green spoke to reporters and aired his side on what happened. In a post shared by 95.7 The Game on X, the All-Star forward recounted how that incident woke the Warriors and strengthened their resolve to win:
It rather alarmed our group. After that, we started moving forward and didn’t turn around. Give them a shout-out. Perhaps they were attempting to have me removed from the game or something. It was unsuccessful. In fact, it worked against them, according to Green.
Rather than inspiring the Grizzlies, the opposite occurred, inspiring the Warriors to destroy Memphis. That altercation was undoubtedly beneficial for Green and his teammates, as evidenced by the strong efforts put out by a number of Golden State players.
