Ange Postecoglou says he is loving the challenge of making Tottenham Hotspur competitive again and bringing success to the North London club.
It’s fair to say that some Spurs supporters weren’t very excited when Postecoglou was named Antonio Conte’s replacement; in fact, the hashtag “#NoToAnge” was trending on social media before his appointment was even revealed (The Sun).
However, it appears that the Australian has already won over the majority of fans in less than a few months as a result of the way he communicates in interviews and the offensive style of play that he is unmistakably attempting to introduce at the club.
Compared to the exuberant personalities that came before him, Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, Postecoglou may come across as a quite composed figure.
Ange Postecoglou is ecstatic to be working for Tottenham.
The 57-year-old, however, emphasized that he is intrigued by the challenge in front of him and that there is now nowhere else he would rather be.
As reported by Football.London, the Tottenham head coach said on the Men in Blazers podcast: “I adore this piece. The fresh task excites me.
“I love entering a space, and it’s probably unique to me that I don’t bring a group of employees with me so I essentially walk into these enormous football clubs by myself. I adore the enthusiasm it gives me.
“I have to make sure that all my senses are super alert to listen and hear everything that goes on and to see everything that I need to see to make the decisions I need to make and then to get people to believe in me.
“So you engage with as many people as possible and it was no different here. Obviously, the magnitude of this football club is bigger than any other I’ve had before so there are more people and saying ‘mate’ gets me around a lot of things because learning the names is almost impossible.
“Again it’s about trying to create as many connections as I can. I love it. It’s so different here. There’s some fantastic footballers here, great staff, the training ground and the stadium are just world-class.
“There’s no place on earth I would rather be than right here in this minute trying to bring success to one of the biggest football clubs in the world.”
