‘He looks a little awkward’: Gary Neville shares what he noticed about Tottenham attacker

Richarlison’s attempt to play with his left foot during Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 victory over nine-man Liverpool on Saturday caught Gary Neville’s attention.

Richarlison struggled to adjust to life in Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou last season after struggling under Antonio Conte following his club-record transfer.

The Brazil international provided assistance for Tottenham’s first goal against Liverpool, which was scored by Son Heung-min. According to Gary Neville, who spoke to Sky Sports Premier League on September 30 at 6:55 p.m., the Brazilian was continually posing a threat to the Reds.

Richarlison’s first Premier League goal for Spurs came at Anfield, which makes sense given his Everton past.

But when Spurs went on to lose that game in overtime, everything fell apart.

While Liverpool supporters celebrated that occasion last season, Richarlison was jubilant this past weekend because he has now recorded two assists and one goal in his previous two home games.

Neville added, “He’s done fine out there Richarlison. He appears a touch off balance on his left foot, but he still poses a threat.

Richarlison could be Ange Postecoglou’s biggest success story

There are other players, such as James Maddison and Yves Bissouma, who are better than Richarlison and far more significant in terms of relevance and quality.

But that doesn’t exclude the former Everton player from being Ange Postecoglou’s greatest success tale.

The truth is that the footballing community currently views him as a failure. However, if he can turn everything around, his stock will start shooting through the ceiling.

When Ange Postecoglou arrived, Porro would have understood that his position in the Spurs team was in jeopardy.

The Australian uses conventional full-backs, despite the fact that he has played attacking wing-back his whole career.

After a few erratic preseason performances, there would have been doubts about his ability to adjust to the new role.

Porro has been working with Tottenham head coach Matty Wells to become as familiar with his new role as quickly as possible, though.

His performance over the weekend suggested that the time spent working out has already had a significant impact.

Gold noted that the £39 million player has spent the last two months or so working very hard on the defensive aspects of his game.

“And he has a tremendous passing range when you combine that with his speed, skill, and delivery.

He’s among the top passers at Spurs, in my opinion.

And I think what’s really interesting is [Ange] Postecoglou disclosed afterwards that Matty Wells was the coach who had obviously come to aid Ryan Mason and had remained with Postecoglou because he has a philosophy that is quite similar to Postecoglou.

“Matty Wells has been collaborating with his defence, particularly [Pedro] Porro.”

This was also emphasised by Postecoglou after the game, who said: “You could see today.

“That’s the area he’s working really hard at, especially Matt Wells and the entire back four, all the defenders have been working really hard with Matty Wells just on their defensive principles and I think you’re seeing the fruits of their labour,” the defenders said.

Pedro Porro appears to be flourishing under Wells, who has been with Tottenham for a long.

Before joining Scott Parker’s backroom staff at Fulham, Bournemouth, and Club Brugge, he first coached the club’s youth squads.

Porro and others are gaining from Postecoglou’s rapid understanding of each of his coach’s positions.

He has acknowledged that he is practising hard to catch up to some of his teammates, and he currently doesn’t appear to be far behind them.
