With the recent hiring of Johan Lange at the North London club, Tottenham Hotspur may consider making another raid on Aston Villa for their head of football research, Frederik Leth, according to Tipsbladet.

After serving in a comparable capacity at Aston Villa since the summer of 2020, Spurs announced earlier this week that Lange will join the team as technical director. Lange will start his new job on November 1.

With the entrance of former Sevilla director of football Monchi, Lange’s function at Villa Park was altered, and Tottenham had been looking for someone to fill in part of the role that Fabio Paratici had filled before leaving due to his football ban.

Spurs could look to move for Frederik Leth

According to the Danish news source, Leth—also known as “The Brain”—was employed by Lange at FC Copenhagen before to their move to the Premier League.

It was emphasized that “nothing is certain” because Tottenham would need to find Leth a job that suits him and negotiate with Villa in order to get him out of his contract.

Spurs have reportedly expressed interest in Leth’s expertise, which focuses on player analytics and statistics with an emphasis on young talent. Since Fabio Paratici joined Tottenham, the team has been reassembled thanks in part to the wise acquisitions of Destiny Udogie, Pape Matar Sarr, Cristian Romero, Yves Bissouma, Dejan Kulusevski, and Rodrigo Bentancur. After years of unsuccessful transfers, Tottenham’s decision to reverse course in the wake of the Italian’s departure could help them build on their recent success in the transfer market.
