Wales defeated Croatia 2-1 last night thanks to a strong performance from Joe Rodon, a Tottenham Hotspur loanee.
Due to his lack of performance under Ange Postecoglou during the summer, Rodon is presently on loan at Leeds.
After adding Ashley Phillips and Micky van de Ven to his backfield, the Australian manager strengthened it, which prompted Rodon to look for a way to play more frequently in the first team.
It appears that playing more regularly has improved the 25-year-old’s international performances as he has so far shown promise in the Championship.
Rodon starred for Wales last night as they boosted their chances of qualifying for the Euros with a win over Croatia.
And it’s fair to say the Welsh media were impressed with the centre-back’s display.
Welsh media raves about Rodon
Wales Online handed Rodon an eight out of 10 for his display as he played the full 90 minutes last night.
The outlet was impressed with his defensive work and noted that he put in a ‘solid’ performance in defence.
They wrote: “Made a couple of really good defensive interventions. Dug in to help his side get the job done. Solid at the back all night.”

Unfortunately, Rodon has had a difficult time staying healthy during his time at Tottenham and hasn’t been able to establish himself in the starting lineup under Jose Mourinho or Antonio Conte.
The Welshman was signed in October 2020, but even though he made several promising appearances under Mourinho, he was not given a significant amount of playing time.
However, following a disappointing loan spell at Stade Rennais last season, the center-back is obviously enjoying playing on a regular basis once more.
Whether Rodon can push his way back into the Spurs lineup following a stint at Elland Road is still to be seen.
