Destiny Udogie’s early dismissal for a yellow card with only ten minutes left in the game certainly hindered his efforts to make an impact, but the young Tottenham left-back deserves praise for his ability to refocus and carry on with his usual bustling enthusiasm despite having a caution hanging over his head.

On the cusp of halftime, Udogie also nearly gave Italy a 2-1 lead. After making one of his signature marauding runs into the penalty box, Jordan Pickford made a quick save to prevent him from scoring on his maiden Azzurri start.

As of late, Italy and Tottenham are benefiting from Destiny Udogie.

According to the former Napoli, Inter Milan, and Roma coach Spalletti, “Udogie played the match he had to play, which I expected.”

“He must be a little more tuned in since he then shown some positive traits. He was somewhat constrained by the yellow card. And in the second half, I took his place to prevent any dangers.

While Udogie may be Tottenham’s star of the future, it was a former Spurs player, Harry Kane, who stole the show as England won 3-1 and booked their ticket to Germany for the upcoming European Championships. Kane scored twice, including a magnificent solo goal.

As Udogie tells Rai Sport, “(The outcome is) a shame.” Considering our performance, we were there. Just a little bit of remorse in front of goal would have helped.

“While we are powerful as individuals, we must go out and compete with everyone while having more faith in our abilities.

“I am pleased with how my assistance to the team. Regrettably, that’s the outcome.
