Silver stated on ESPN’s First Take, “We’re looking at some potential changes in format in Indianapolis this year.” In terms of how the teams are portrayed, there might be a return to something more conventional. It was obvious historically that it was East vs. West, but we went to sort of this captain and draft approach. So perhaps that is something we are considering.

The format has changed because it is thought that the league wants All-Stars to play harder and to have fans who are passionate about the game again.

“This is the best ever!” people exclaim on Sunday afternoon before the game even begins, Silver continued. “I’m always sort of laughing about that.” And I think to myself, “Well, we have this game.” I’ll accept some of the blame because, this year, when you’re in Indianapolis, from Thursday night through Sunday, That’s an opportunity, in my opinion, for the whole basketball community to unite. the game’s iconic characters. And not just the All-Stars. A lot of players. Not all of the players in the league are All-Stars, but many of them still decide to come to All Star Weekend to take part in the festivities. What happens in other sports, I’m not sure.
I believe that we have somewhat forgotten that the game is what matters in the end.
