‘X-rated’ altercation between Olympiakos supporters and English media precedes the West Ham United match

According to the Daily Mail, there has been a confrontation between Olympiakos supporters and the English media prior to Thursday’s (October 26) match versus West Ham.

On Wednesday, October 25, the newspaper posted a story on its website stating that upon arriving at Karaiskakis Stadium for the pre-match press conference, the journalists were met with a “hostile welcome.”

Reports stated that the ultras of the Athens-based team, who were inside the stadium planning a tifo for the Europa League match against the Hammers, had showered them with rolls of sellotape, spit, and X-rated comments upon their arrival.

There is one thing that is certain about this evening’s matchup versus Olympiakos: the stadium will be filled with fierce energy.

The Greek supporters have a reputation for inciting animosity, and this one won’t be any different as they try to upset West Ham and inflict the visitors their first loss in 17 games in Europe.

After winning their first two games, the Hammers will be hoping to build on their strong start to their European season.

But after losing 4-1 at Villa Park after a lackluster display, they will need to be far better than they were on Sunday, October 22, at Aston Villa.

Although Mohammed Kudus is still trying to push his way into the manager’s plans and should be selected in his preferred position, Danny Ings, the forward, is still looking to launch his Hammers career and should be selected ahead of Michail Antonio, the Jamaican who just returned from injury and international duty.
