Ange Postecoglou says Tottenham is going to sign classy Turkish star to replace exit-link midfielder
Postecoglou wants Tottenham to replace the midfielder who is connected to the exit with a good Turkish player.
Ismail Yuksek, a defensive midfielder for Fenerbahce who Ange Postecoglou is supposedly a major fan of, is a player Tottenham is considering moving for in January.
The North London team is now atop the Premier League standings after having an incredible start to the season, winning seven and drawing two of their nine games.Their early success may be attributed in large part to new additions like Micky van de Ven and James Maddison.
In spite of this, Postecoglou is still eager to bolster his team during the January transfer window, and it’s said that the manager has his sights set on a new midfield player.
The fact that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been strongly connected to leaving Tottenham for a number of months is somewhat to blame for this.
Atletico Madrid tried to sign Hojbjerg during the summer transfer window, but they were unable to come to an agreement with Spurs, as Football365 has previously revealed. But, they might go after him once more in January.
If he does depart, it would thus make sense for Tottenham to sign a different midfield player, and it appears Postecoglou has already determined who his ideal replacement is.
Yuksek, a 24-year-old standout for Fenerbahce, is being “closely followed” by Tottenham, according to Turkish publication A Spor.
According to the article, Spurs “stepped in” to sign the international player from Turkey on the basis of Postecoglou’s “personal recommendation.”
According to reports, the former Celtics manager has already started “detailed research on him” and loves Yuksek’s style “very much.” For this reason, when Fenerbahce plays Trabzonspor the next week, Tottenham scouts intend to watch the player in person.
Yuksek joined Fenerbahce in 2020 and, following several loan stints, has steadily grown into one of the key members of the Turkish powerhouse.
The defensive center mid made 19 league appearances the previous season and has made 15 appearances so far this year, netting one goal and dishing out two assists.
Yuksek’s contract is good until 2027, and if he does decide to leave Fenerbahce in January, according to A Spor, he wants to “make money” for his team. In addition to Tottenham, the midfield player has drawn interest from Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen. It would be intriguing to watch if Tottenham heeds Postecoglou’s counsel and submits a formal offer for Yuksek during the January transfer window.
