Bentancur delivers a heartfelt message to Tottenham fans.
The Uruguayan was a major loss for the team in the latter few months of the previous campaign after suffering an ACL injury against Leicester City back in February. Bentancur had been one of Tottenham’s most reliable players in his debut year at the North London club.
The 26-year-old has been back in training for the past few weeks, but according to a rumor from a few days ago, he won’t be playing again until November (The Standard).
Bentancur surprised everyone by being left off the starting lineup for Tottenham’s match against Crystal Palace. He entered the game in the ninetieth minute and helped the away team win 2-1.
Rodrigo Bentancur is finally back for Tottenham
Following the final whistle, the midfield player experienced a heartwarming moment as his teammates pulled him forward to receive the honors from the visiting crowd at Selhurst Park.
Bentancur has expressed gratitude on Instagram to all of his supporters over the past eight months, and he has acknowledged that he is eager to resume playing football.
Following his return, Bentancur also filmed this video message for Spurs supporters.
Given how well Sarr and Bissouma are playing right now, Postecoglou can afford to ease Bentancur back into the game over the course of a few weeks, or perhaps even a month or two, until he returns to full strength. If the Uruguayan can get back to his pre-injury form, there’s no denying that he will significantly benefit the team.

After Spurs overcame a slow first half at Selhurst Park to score twice in the second half, the manager of the North London team was in no mood to put an end to supporters’ dreams of a title push.
“I anticipated that we would have a really tough game to play tonight. Given Palace’s performance from last week, this is a competitive field where they have only allowed three goals in their previous four games. I thought it was great how we resolved that as a team, Postecoglou remarked.
