Before Aston Villa takes on Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, Danny Murphy claims that Moussa Diaby is “causing havoc” for opponents.

On Sunday, the Reds will play Unai Emery’s Villa at the City Ground in the Premier League. And with Villa in excellent form, it will be a major test for Steve Cooper’s team.

Villa has risen to fifth place in the rankings, eleven places and twelve points above Forest, after winning five of their past six league games. When Villa defeated Luton Town 3-1 last time out, summer signing Diaby scored his third league goal in ten games. Murphy singled him out for praise on Match of the Day.

He said, “If you’re a Villa fan, what a start,” to Match of the Day.

“As far as I can recall, nobody anticipated that Emery would enter and carry out his actions. His presence has been a welcome change of pace.

His team is a pleasure to watch as they play outstanding football. The sportsmen are getting better.

“He (Emery) gets the best out of the new players and the ones who he improves are the ones who are already there,” he continued.

“Diaby is an incredible player who has adapted so swiftly and readily. He is a real goal threat. As we all know, he was a more wide-ranging winger in the past. He is destabilizing teams centrally.

His quickness makes it easy to move up the pitch, which is a wonderful ability. He always tries new things, which I appreciate.”
