Ange Postecoglou has made a statement about Erling Halland while talking about Harry Kane
In talking about Harry Kane, Ange Postecoglou has now mentioned Manchester City’s No. 9 Erling Haaland. During an interview with Rio Ferdinand on TNT Sports, the manager of Tottenham revealed the quotation.
What then did Ange Postecoglou have to say regarding Erling Haaland? Let’s examine this.
What’s the story?
In his conversation with Ferdinand, the 58-year-old was talking about Kane and the England international’s decision to move from Tottenham to Bayern Munich in August. Postecoglou stated that Haaland is the only striker who can match the 30-year-old. He said, “The one thing I knew wasn’t possible to do was replace Harry.
There is no other Harry Kane. You can give me £200m and unless you’re going to get Erling (Haaland), there aren’t many of them around.” Currently, there aren’t many strikers who can match either Kane or Haaland.
There is – of course – Kylian Mbappe, although the France international is not exactly a traditional No.9 like the other three strikers mentioned here.
Nevertheless, Haaland should be proud of what Postecoglou said.
At the age of just 23, the Norway international has already cemented himself in conversations alongside Kane, which speaks volumes given how talented the Englishman is.
How Manchester City No.9 Erling Haaland compares to Harry Kane this season
Although Kane has been more successful thus far this season, both Haaland and Kane are having successful seasons in front of goal.
The Londoner, referred to by Daniel Sturridge as a more “complete” attacker, has astonishingly amassed 19 goals and seven assists in just 15 appearances in all competitions.
With 15 goals in just 17 games and three assists, Haaland is still enjoying an incredible season, but it’s important to consider the disparity in caliber between the Bundesliga and the Premier League.
In the end, it’s fortunate that we got to witness two strikers with this level of skill playing at the same time; Kane and Haaland will undoubtedly live on in the memories of future generations.
