Throughout the winter transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur hopes to bolster their midfield.
It was reported by Football Fancast that they have been keeping an eye on Jobe Bellingham for some time and are eager to hire him.
Before signing with Sunderland ahead of the current season, Bellingham progressed through the ranks at Birmingham. Four goals have been assisted by the 18-year-old midfielder, who has appeared in 16 Championship games overall.
Since joining the Black Cats, he has consistently performed well, and as a result, he has drawn a lot of interest from around Europe. There may be a bidding battle for him during the winter transfer window as several elite teams are eager to sign him.
One team that is eager to have him join them is Spurs. When he was at Birmingham last winter, the London club was interested in signing him, but they were able to work out a contract for his services. They could take action in the next window as they are still intrigued.
James Maddison, who joined Tottenham this summer for a reported £40 million from relegated Leicester City, has been one of the team’s biggest stars and has helped them get off to a great start in the new season.
The London club pulled off an incredibly amazing piece of business. They have been winning games thanks to Madison’s inventiveness, who has been doing wonders for them. However, they now rely too much on the England international. They have had trouble winning games when he has been sidelined.
They thus want to add Bellingham to the mix and are trying to strengthen the midfield. Like his brother Jude Bellingham, who plays for Real Madrid, the 18-year-old is capable of playing both as an offensive and center midfielder.
Given his recent play, the Sunderland midfielder has a ton of potential and may be a valuable addition to the team. He can ease their transition without Maddison, and in time, he can even outperform the former midfielder for Leicester City.
