Aston Villa captain John McGinn has made a claim about Tottenham Hotspur after facing them on Sunday afternoon.
Even though Ange Postecoglou’s team dominated for significant portions of the game, they were defeated 2-1 by Aston Villa yesterday.
After taking the lead through Giovani Lo Celso in the 22nd minute, Tottenham were left to regret their squandered opportunities for the rest of the game.
In fact, Son Heung-Min gave Spurs three opportunities to put the ball in the back of the net. But offside meant that every attempt was eliminated.
During the game, Pedro Porro and Dejan Kulusevski both gave a rattling sound to the woodwork. It’s also reasonable to argue that Villa occasionally rode their luck.
Nevertheless, the Villains turned out to be the more proficient team that day and did put on a stronger showing in the second half.
John McGinn also said that Postecoglou’s team will always be entertaining to watch after thinking back on yesterday’s victory over Tottenham.
McGinn makes claim about Tottenham after yesterday’s game
According to McGinn, yesterday’s game was “hectic,” but it was nevertheless enjoyable for spectators, as he acknowledged in an interview with Viaplay.
“It’s going to be an entertaining match for anyone who comes to watch Tottenham this season,” he stated.
Although I hope we don’t have games like that every week, it was incredibly entertaining for the neutral! Everything became a little crazy.
Even though they were missing a few important players, Spurs played a fantastic game yesterday.
Players with ailments that are sidelining them include Richarlison, James Maddison, Pape Matar Sarr, and Micky van de Ven.
Also sidelined by suspension were Cristian Romero and Yves Bissouma. Spurs, however, were unfortunate not to obtain a victory that day but still managed to cause Villa a great deal of difficulties.
Though the outcome will surely disappoint Postecoglou, the performance will provide him with a lot of motivation.
