Based on a clue that Rassie Erasmus dropped, we have a very decent notion of who SA Rugby and himself are thinking of employing as one of the future Springboks coaches.

Based on a clue that Rassie Erasmus dropped, we have a very decent notion of who SA Rugby and himself are thinking of employing as one of the future Springboks coaches.

The Springboks are looking to add two more players to their technical team.

Furthermore, given the accomplishments of their predecessors, Felix Jones and Jacques Nienaber, they have a lot of work ahead of them.

RASSIE HINTS AT BRINGING STORMERS MAN TO SPRINGBOKS

Rassie not swayed by Munster allegiance as loyalties hold firm in Stormers' favour | Sport

Earlier this year, Rassie hinted at the prospect of adding a Stormers technical member.

Norman Laker is the Stormers player who the Boks would be considering if they were in the market for a defense coach.

He is the Stormers’ defense coach at the moment. As was already reported, Rassie made a suggestion about the employment of a Stormers coach.

Additionally, since John Dobson has committed to the Cape-based group until 2027, we are certain that it is not him.

Laker joined the Stormers in 2020 and has since been a vital member of the team.

The Stormers won the 2022 United Rugby Championship during his three years with the team, and they placed second in 2023.

DUANE VERMEULEN SET TO TRANSITION FROM PLAYER TO COACH

Duane Vermeulen reported to be appointed new defence coach of South Africa

Rassie’s ultimate task is to identify two defense-oriented specialists to take Nienaber and Jones’ position. Despite Jones’s involvement as a defense performance analyst, Nienaber assumed command of the Boks defense while serving as head coach. Duane Vermeulen, a legend of the Bok, is expected to be one of the defensive coaches.

As such, Laker is among the front-runners for the other opening in the Bok arrangement.

Springboks: SEVEN future Boks to look out for!

Springboks rugby is at an all-time high and the future stars are hungry and eager to be a part of the latest chapter of this prestigious legacy.

The future stars of Springboks rugby are hungry and ready to be a part of the newest chapter of this famous tradition, as the team is playing at an all-time high.

With some individuals continuing to deliver on the potential they have showed over the last few seasons for their various teams, the United Rugby Championship is well underway.

Additionally, spots in the national squad will start to open up as several Springboks approach the later phases of their careers. Considering this, we examine SEVEN brilliant players who have the potential to wear green and gold in the future.

SEVEN STARS WHO COULD BE FUTURE SPRINGOKS

    GERHARD STEENEKAMP (PROP)

In the lead-up to the Rugby World Cup 2023, Steenekamp was called up to the Springboks team and made his debut against Argentina for 27 minutes. If he maintains his strong play from the previous season, he is undoubtedly in the mix.

Trevor Nyakane, 34, and Vincent Koch, 33, who are now Boks props, are starting their later years of their careers. That is to say, it seems improbable that both players will participate in the Australia Rugby World Cup in 2027. Thus, SA Rugby and Rassie Erasmus are searching for a new prop. The 26-year-old Steenekamp, who has a stellar ball career and is another potent scrum machine in SA Rugby, goes by the moniker “crusher” for good cause.

    NTUTHUKO MCHUNO (PROP)

Mchuno has only been capped once for his country, even at age 24.

The build is there in the 1.88m, 114kg prop. He is also one of the stronger and more athletic props in the game. He has the potential to develop into a bright future for the Boks as he continues to grow as a player. It has been stated that there are two openings.

    JOHAN GRABBELAAR

In recent years, Grobbelaar has emerged as one of the Bulls’ most reliable players. Excellent line-out throw-ins, strong ball carees, respectable fetching, and good line-out play all give him the makings of a superb hooker. When he was called up in August 2021, he had some training experience with the national team.

His Bok debut has not yet occurred, though. He is a strong candidate to play for the Boks in the future at 25 (26 in December). And Deon Fourie will be older than forty, as well as Bongi Mbonambi, who is 32 (he turns 33 in January). It is thus generally believed that Dweba will go back to the Bok lineup, but Grobbelaar will undoubtedly be in the running if the Boks go back to using the three hookers that they have historically used. The next Rugby World Cup will see Akker van der Merwe, who will be 36, in the running.

    ROSAN NORTJE

I feel like a young Lood de Jager is what Nortjé is like.

He is a fantastic line-out player who carries the ball with great vigor and emotion. He also wears his heart on his sleeve. Considering that he was far from his best the previous season, this 2022–2023 campaign will be crucial for him. He wasn’t quite as explosive as he had been with the Bulls in prior seasons, which is not to suggest he had a bad season by any means. Because the senior locks are nearing the end of their careers and Lood de Jager has been diagnosed with pericarditis, SA Rugby will need to develop a lock. During the next World Cup, Franco Mostert will be 36, Etzebeth will be 37, and Marvin Orie will be 34. By the time he becomes 28, Nortje will be at the height of his powers.Actions speak louder than words and Dayimani has been one of the stand-out performers in the last two URC’s. He is explosive, has the speed of an outside back, the skills of a centre and the explosive strength needed as a loose forward. In fact, he would make many countries in World Rugby it is just unfortunate for him that South Africa has o many world class loose forwards in Siya Kolisi, Pieter-Steph du Toit, Kwagga Smith, Deon Fourie and Marco van Staden

    SACHA-FEINBERG MNGOMEZULU

Prodigious talent, aptitude, promise, and elegance. With a sage head on his shoulders, the 21-year-old actor plays. With his ability to move on both feet, Mngomezulu is a formidable attacker and shrewd defensive player. He embodies the definition of an x-factor player, able to produce flashes of spectacular skill like tackle offloads and chip and gather techniques. He can also kick the ball 55 meters or more, making him a great goalkicker. Rassie Erasmus has thus identified him as a possible future Springbok, which is not surprising.

    HENCO Van Wyk

The Lions outside centre has all the makings of a quality outside centre and modern day outside centre. He is a hard runner, runs excellent lines and he has quite the eye for the gap. Moreover, he is equally hard to bring down and has a powerful hand-off. It might not be in the next season but don’t be surprised to see van Wyk wear the green and gold in the future.
