After seeing Son Heung-min, the captain of Tottenham Hotspur, perform his post-match interviews in the media mixed zone after the team’s 2-1 loss to West Ham United, Alasdair Gold has disclosed that the player does not seem to have suffered any major injuries. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium encounter against West Ham would have been seen by Ange Postecoglou’s team as a perfect chance to get back on track after their tense 3-3 draw with Manchester City on Sunday.

After Cristian Romero gave the Lilywhites the lead and the Hammers were unable to get a footing in the game, it appeared as though the Lilywhites could easily defeat their London rivals in the opening twenty minutes.

Son came off against West Ham in discomfort

It only took two fortunate breaks for David Moyes’ team in the second half for Tottenham to suffer their third straight home loss, though, as the North Londoners were wasteful in the final third once again.

Seen moving exceedingly cautiously in the last minutes of the match, Son’s situation was made worse. Alejo Veliz took Son’s position on minute 88.

After the game, Gold posted on social media to say that the forward appeared OK in the mixed zone, so it appears that the Spurs captain is not dealing with any major issues.

Especially considering that players like Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, and Manor Solomon don’t seem to be close to making a comeback, the last thing we need right now is to lose Son for a few weeks. Son seems like he should be OK to go on Sunday when they face Newcastle. Ange will speak with the media during today’s pre-match news conference at 12:00 UK time, when we will learn more.
