Giovani Lo Celso: Barcelona want Tottenham midfielder in January transfer window
Giovani Lo Celso, a midfielder for Tottenham, is wanted by Barcelona in January. The Argentinean international has been playing well for Spurs lately, starting three of the team’s four league games and scoring against Manchester City and Aston Villa.

Gavi’s injury has increased the necessity for a player with Lo Celso’s profile.
It’s actually thought of as a test of Xavi’s level of support among the Barca hierarchy.
Lo Celso was a priority target for Xavi in the summer, but he was eager to stay with Tottenham as well.
Following multiple player injuries, he has been outstanding for Spurs recently. Against Man City in particular, he scored, as did the Premier League winners Aston Villa, who are currently in third place.
With 18 months remaining on his deal in January, Lo Celso has started three of Spurs’ last four league games. He also participated in the final 17 minutes of Saturday’s 4-1 rout of Newcastle at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. After spending the most of the previous two seasons on loan at Villarreal, he has already played more Premier League minutes under Ange Postecoglou than in any other campaign since 2020–21.
