“ALMOST DONE DEAL”: Tottenham linked midfielder deemed ‘hugely talented’ by Michael Carrick

Middlesbrough has been linked to Tottenham Hotspur recently Through Midfielder Hayden Hackney
    .

The Independent reported earlier this week that the Spurs were among the teams reportedly interested in the 21-year-old.

In a more recent statement, Dean Jones confirmed to GiveMeSport that Tottenham was considering Hackney.

Spurs performed incredibly well during the January transfer window, adding players in strategic positions.

Timo Werner has joined to strengthen Tottenham’s offensive lineup, and Radu Dragusin is a much-needed addition to the Spurs center backfield.

According to reports, Tottenham’s January transfer schedule will include the addition of a new midfield player.

Conor Gallagher of Chelsea and Hackney, who has performed well for Boro over the last 18 months, are reportedly targets for Spurs.

The Teesside team made the playoffs last season, and the defensive midfielder played in 36 Championship games.

Additionally, Hackney has made 16 league appearances this season, and Michael Carrick’s team is still only a few points outside of the top six.

But it’s in the Carabao Cup, where he scored against Chelsea in midweek, that he has truly established himself as a major player.

Tuesday night at Riverside Stadium, Boro defeated the Blues in the semi-final first leg thanks to a goal from Hackney, who scored the game’s lone goal.

Hayden Hackney, a Tottenham target, is “the life and soul” of Middlesbrough.

Having seen how much effort Hackney has been putting in, Carrick, a former Tottenham player, wasn’t even shocked by how well Hackney performed.

In all honesty, he told Teesside Live, “It couldn’t have happened to a nicer lad.”

“As a player, he fulfills every expectation you could have. He’s incredibly talented, extremely hardworking, modest, and a pleasure to work with.

“As I stated last week, he is the life and soul of this team, and he has his sights set on this game in order to score that goal.

This was the intended target, and he has been hurt for a few weeks. We organized his schedule so that he could prepare some minutes on Saturday for tonight, and in the end, he barely made it.

It doesn’t even slightly surprise me. That’s the kind of young man he is. He is courteous and grounded. You can see how much his goal meant to him. It is truly a pleasure to have him here.

In contrast to his usual role, Hackney was actually playing in one of the more advanced roles that evening, and he scored. This shows he has the potential to develop into a very versatile player.

We’ll see in the upcoming weeks what transpires. Tottenham should absolutely find out about his availability and cost.
