Lucas Paqueta is available for bid at West Ham if Manchester City makes a competitive offer.
It is obvious that anyone who claims that Lucas Paqueta is the last entertainer in the Premier League hasn’t seen any performances. The Brazilian striker possesses every quality you could ask for in a midfield player: flair, exquisite passing, outstanding finishing, unwavering work ethic, and a will to win possession of the ball. His admirers even go so far as to say he is superior to Dimitri Payet, as he has become a sensation in East London.
Unfortunately, when some of the “bigger clubs” are sniffing around him, a player like that does not perform at the level he has been for very long. Not only is a club like that interested in him, but the greatest team in the world is also hoping to sign him.
Since the summer, Manchester City has been interested in signing Paqueta; however, Pep stopped Pep from making a bid after Paqueta was allegedly involved in a major betting scandal. Although the investigation is still ongoing, it seems likely that a decision will soon be made.
According to Football Insider, the Irons would consider an offer for him if it met their requirements. His contract reportedly contains a release clause worth approximately £85 million, so you would think they wouldn’t sell him for less.
West Ham has lost all of its games since his injury at the beginning of the season and has only managed one goal through open play. It is obvious that the midfield player is essential to David Moyes’ team, and it would be devastating to lose him permanently. There is, however, nothing they can do if City exercises the release clause and the player wishes to leave.
It is absolutely tragic that Hammers willing to sell Paqueta.
