Michail Antonio, a striker for West Ham United, says Arsenal are currently playing in “ridiculous” form.
Arsenal has been playing well in the league even though they lost to Porto in the Champions League last night.
The team led by Mikel Arteta has won five straight Premier League games while scoring 21 goals.
The Gunners defeated West Ham and Burnley away from home after defeating Liverpool earlier in the month to make a big statement.
At the London Stadium, Michail Antonio was observing from the sidelines as Arsenal defeated his team 6-0. The Hammers forward also thinks that Arteta’s team has a chance to win and cannot be written off.
Antonio on ‘ridiculous’ Arsenal
Antonio praised Arsenal’s recent league performance while speaking on The Players Channel.
“We can’t skip Arsenal [for the league],” he declared. Arsenal is winning badly!
“They went to Burnley and I thought, ‘Oh, another fun day.’ They beat Liverpool and smoked us with a cigar. They’ve been in a single! Their style of play is absurd.
It appears that Arteta’s side has discovered their peak at the perfect moment.
After a difficult Christmas season, Arsenal returned from the winter break with renewed confidence in their ability to score goals.
After his team’s recent dominance, Arteta will undoubtedly be hoping that last night’s loss in Porto was only a bump in the road.
It’s intriguing to listen to Antonio talk so openly about West Ham’s crushing home loss to the Gunners.
To be fair to Antonio, West Ham probably knows full well what they went through that day.
Arsenal, on the other hand, will be eager to demonstrate that they can maintain this level of performance for the duration of the season.
It’s no secret that their failure to stay competitive toward the end of the season cost them a championship the last time around.
