The San Francisco 49ers, led by star quarterback Brock Purdy, are currently reeling from a heartbreaking overtime loss to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 58, which was held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In his first Super Bowl appearance, Purdy performed admirably; however, the 49ers lost badly, blowing a 10-0 lead en route to their third straight defeat on the biggest stage of the game.
Recently, Purdy caused a stir when he was spotted in a somewhat strange scene riding a John Deere tractor in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights Park. This led some people to wonder what possible set of circumstances could have resulted in that situation.
It has now been discovered that Purdy is genuinely filming an explanational commercial for the renowned company.
“A body double, dressed in the exact same attire as Purdy, and 49ers right tackle Colton McKivitz joined Purdy, according to a social media post by KPIX-TV reporter Sara Donchey. According to Alex Simon of SFGate, KPIX reported that the commercial, which is a part of a new sponsorship agreement with John Deere, will likely air in “the next couple of weeks.”
Given how quickly he rose to prominence and became one of the 49ers’ most exciting young players, it makes sense that Brock Purdy would want to take advantage of his newfound notoriety and success. It wouldn’t be shocking if he received another chance to play inthe Super Bowl in the near future.

Sports fans in the Chicago area are taking notice of the move made by former Chicago Bears placekicker Robbie Gould, who has apparently landed a new position as a high school head coach off the field. Gould is expected to become the new head coach of Rolling Meadows High School football after hanging up his cleats after an 18-year NFL career, according to Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Gould is making a sort of homecoming as he returns to the Chicago region, where he established roots with his family and became the Bears’ all-time leading scorer. Not only does Gould have connections to the NFL through Rolling Meadows; NFL quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo attended the high school and was a teammate of Gould’s on the San Francisco 49ers.
Going from calling plays to rolling kicks, Gould is taking over for former Rolling Meadows head coach Sam Baker. Baker led the team for the previous four seasons. Supporters who are still stinging from the Bears’ September 2015 decision to cut Gould—a move that set off the team’s well-documented kicking disaster—will be happy to see him continue in the game. Gould left the Bears with franchise records, including 1,207 career points and 276 made field goals, according to FOX 32 Chicago.
Gould is not the only former Bear teaching the next wave of Chicago football players. Jason McKie, an old teammate, beat him to the coaching job at Carmel Catholic High School, where he has been in charge since 2021. It appears that the Chicago suburbs are turning into a bountiful breeding ground for football’s future stars, nourished by yesterday’s legends, as a number of retired pros have started coaching high school teams.
