Jannik Sinner adds Novak Djokovic’s former trainer and physiotherapist to his team
Jannik Sinner has on boarded Novak Djokovic’s former trainer, Marco Panichi, and physiotherapist, Ulises Badio, to join his team. This move follows Sinner’s decision to part ways with his previous fitness trainer, Umberto Ferrara, and physiotherapist, Giacomo Naldi, in the wake of a doping scandal.
Last month, it was disclosed that Sinner had failed two drug tests in March for the steroid Clostebol. Initially suspended, the Italian tennis star managed to overturn the decision on appeal, allowing him to continue competing while the tribunal investigated further.
The ITIA accepted Sinner’s explanation that the steroid had entered his system inadvertently through Naldi, who had used an over-the-counter spray containing Clostebol, purchased by Ferrara, to treat an injury. As a result, both Ferrara and Naldi were dismissed from Sinner’s team.
Sinner has now announced on social media that Marco Panichi and Ulises Badio will be joining his team.
