A 2025 four-star cornerback, Hollywood (FL) Madonna Chaminade Chris Ewald Jr. announced on social media that he had decommitted from Michigan on Sunday night. In December of 2023, Ewald made his initial commitment to Michigan after weighing his options with several other schools.
Notwithstanding the pledge and Michigan’s victory in the National Championship, Ewald Jr. said to 247Sports last week that he was in the process of scheduling three visits with other programs.
Ewald claimed, “Michigan was all in on me early.” “I respect them for allowing me to be the class face last year by accepting my commitment.”
Long before this decommitment, Ewald was thinking about three programs: Miami (FL), Florida State, and Georgia. In the 2025 cycle, tight end Eli Owens, defensive lineman Bobby Kanka, and quarterback Carter Smith have all verbally committed to Michigan.
