However, Thiago Alcântara’s contract is set to expire, and since the Spaniard hasn’t played yet this season due to additional injury concerns, a free transfer out of the club appears likely.

After the 2024–2025 season, Kimmich’s contract expires, so if Bayern can’t come to an agreement on new terms, it might have to cash in this summer.This week, Bild reported that Liverpool and Manchester City are keeping an eye on the matter and will become more involved should it become evident that he is leaving Bayern.
Additionally, it has been stated that Liverpool’s sporting director Jörg Schmadtke may have an advantage over rivals for the Premier League title because of his “good connections” in the Bundesliga. But it appears that Kimmich has already hinted at his ideal location.
The Germany international joined Pep Guardiola in 2015 after leaving RB Leipzig, and he has already said he would welcome the chance to work with his old manager once more.
In an interview from 2019, Kimmich stated, “I know [Guardiola] and have a lot to thank him for,” in reference to rumors that the Manchester City manager would be moving back to Munich. I was in the second division when he brought me up to play in the Bundesliga. Together, we took home the double, and I ended up playing for Germany that season. Thus, naturally, I won’t oppose his return.
Naturally, Guardiola stayed at the Etihad and guided Manchester City to the previous three Premier League championships. Despite the fact that City still has a game in hand, his team currently trails Liverpool by five points.
Kimmich, who can play midfield or right back, has also been connected to Newcastle. However, given the club’s exposure to stringent FFP regulations, that move seems improbable.
