Sherrone Moore will take over as head coach of the Michigan football team after Jim Harbaugh left to join the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers. The greatest victory of Coach Moore’s career came the previous season against Ohio State football’s Ryan Day. He’s now talking about the team’s and his own feelings about the victory.
It was recently reported that Michigan football is considering hiring an NFL assistant coach to fill one of its open assistant positions. In Detroit, Michigan, Coach Harbaugh made an extremely audacious prediction about the 2024 NFL Draft, referencing JJ McCarthy.
Moore recently discussed his thoughts on “The Game” versus Ohio State with On3.com, going into detail about what it meant to him to defeat the Buckeyes.
Moore: “Everything” meant that OSU won.
Moore will be the Wolverines’ coach for their final three regular-season games: against the Buckeyes in the Big House, at Penn State, and at Maryland.
Thanks to a last-second interception by talented safety Rod Moore—who intends to return to Ann Arbor for another season—Michigan defeated Ryan Day’s team 30–24.
“It meant everything, by which I mean just winning that game, no matter what position you’re in—head coach, offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, or o-line coach. That is our entire year’s work, and it means everything,” Moore remarked.
We will keep upholding that program’s standards for ourselves as well. We strive to outperform them every day and are knowledgeable about everything we do. It therefore meant everything, and that is the goal for which we strive. Moore expressed his excitement for that occasion on behalf of the players, supporters, and university to carry on with our current practices and to maintain that standard.
At Michigan Football, Moore Could Do Something That Harbaugh Couldn’t
Despite all of Harbaugh’s accomplishments with Michigan football, he ended his career with a 3-5 overall record against Ohio State football—a record marred by early-career defeats to Urban Meyer.
With Moore’s victory over the Buckeyes, Michigan football coaches will have defeated Ohio State football teams three times in a row (1990–1994), the last time this has happened was under Gary Moeller.
