Ex-Husky TE Coach Sheridan Appears Set to Become Alabama Offensive Coordinator

It looks that former University of Washington tight-ends coach Nick Sheridan will take over as Alabama’s offensive coordinator for Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide after Ryan Grubb decided to coach for the Seattle Seahawks instead of accepting the position. This is according to numerous news sources.

Sheridan, 35, was fired after two seasons as the Indiana offensive coordinator after taking DeBoer’s place. He came to the UW to try to revive his coaching career.

Sheridan, a former quarterback for Michigan, was well-received in Montlake for his contributions to the development of the Huskies’ talented tight-end group, which will send Jack Westover and Devin Culp to the NFL Scouting Combine at the end of the month.

Sheridan was hired as the quarterbacks coach for the first two of his five seasons at Indiana, where he was paired with Michael Penix Jr., a true freshman signal-caller, in 2018.

In 2019, he was the tight ends coach while DeBoer became the offensive coordinator for the Hoosiers for that one season. When DeBoer left to take the head coaching position at Fresno State, he took DeBoer’s place.

In the COVID-shortened 2020 season, Sheridan was the offensive coordinator for a 6-2 team that advanced to the Outback Bowl against Mississippi. However, after the Hoosiers went 2-10 and were fired, Sheridan was used as a scapegoat. Penix suffered a season-ending injury in every season.

Along with DeBoer, Sheridan was one of five UW coaches who left for Alabama. The other coaches were offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, linebackers coach William Inge, receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard, offensive line coach Scott Huff, and offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb. Grubb and Huff later turned around and accepted offers from the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks, staying in the Northwest.

Mater Dei 5-Star RB Jordon Davison locks in Alabama visit

One unofficial visit to the University of Alabama has been scheduled by Jordan Davison.

Davison is one of the top 2025 running back prospects in the country and a student at California’s Mater Dei High School. In the future, he could receive a five-star rating from everyone. On March 23, the junior intends to visit the Crimson Tide.

Davison was offered a position in Alabama football under head coach Nick Saban. Robert Gillespie, the running back coach for the Tide, has been getting to know Davison ever since the California product started to catch Alabama’s attention. Under Kalen DeBoer, Gillespie stayed with the Tide in the same capacity.

Along with his relationship with Alabama’s new general manager, Davison’s continued interest in Alabama is “definitely” influenced by Gillespie’s retention.

We’ve been together for a long time, so that definitely helps, Davison said. “He along with Courtney Morgan”

At present, Davison is six feet tall, weighs 205 pounds, and has a forty-yard dash time of 4.46. He has excellent balance, patience, and explosive burst when running the football. Additionally effective at catching the ball out of the backfield is the Mater Dei product.
