Spurs will only sign Santiago Gimenez under one condition
In regards to a summer transfer, Tottenham Hotspur has not spoken with Santiago Gimenez’s representation and will only pursue the Mexican if they choose to let go of one of their forwards.
Gimenez was observed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the North London Derby last Sunday, and since then, there has been a lot more speculation that the 23-year-old would be joining Spurs.
Actually, earlier this week, CalcioMercato.it reported that Spurs and AC Milan are in the running to recruit the Feyenoord star. The source said that both the Premier League team and the Italian club had contacts with the striker’s entourage.
However, this was contradicted by The Sun’s Tom Barclay who claimed on Wednesday that his sources at Tottenham have conveyed that the Eredivisie star is no longer a target for the club.
Spurs have not made contact over Santiago Gimenez
Similar reports have since surfaced from Fox Sports, which states that Ange Postecoglou’s officials have not discussed a summer transfer with Gimenez’s representation.
According to the source, in order to determine the Feyenoord star’s next course of action, his representatives have already had meetings with Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and RB Leipzig.
According to the report, Tottenham is interested in Gimenez but won’t pursue him unless they sell one of their attackers first. At the present, the Lilywhites are believed to be prioritizing a move for a midfield player.
Rather than relying on Gimenez, an out-and-out number nine who is not the best match for the Australian style, Postecoglou could prefer another adaptable attacker who can play throughout the front three.
