In the first quarter of the College Football Playoff national championship game, 2022 quarterback Evan Edwards made an appearance.

Edwards’ 41- and 46-yard touchdowns against Washington in the first quarter completely destroyed the title game.

It’s easy to forget about the Wolverines junior running back from 2022 because he frequently gets overlooked in favor of senior Blake Corum. In the final three games of the season, he had impressive performances against Ohio State, Purdue, and TCU, accumulating 520 yards on 70 carries. He finished with 1,191 yards from scrimmage and an average of 7.1 yards per carry. But this was a difficult season. Edwards averaged 3.5 yards per carry going into the championship game, good for 642 yards from scrimmage.

Prior to his 46-yard touchdown this season, his 41-yard touchdown against Washington was his longest. In Michigan’s first 14 games, he only managed to gain at least 41 rushing yards three times.

Because of Corum’s output, Michigan was predicted to have an advantage with its running game. As of Monday, he possessed 1,111 rushing yards, which included the game-winning touchdown against Alabama in the Rose Bowl.

Edwards’ 2022 form should continue to show, and the Wolverines will probably win their first national championship outright since 1948.

There is a widespread belief in league circles that head coach Jim Harbaugh of Michigan and the Los Angeles Chargers share interests.

According to Mike Sando of The Athletic, an unnamed coach stated, “They want Harbaugh, and he wants them.” Thus, I would assume they would complete that. Although I don’t think it will happen, the Raiders could outbid them because they also want Harbaugh.”

Sando continued Antonio Pierce, the Raiders’ temporary head coach, has gained the confidence of the locker room and may end up getting the job. Additionally, L.A. is a more desirable destination because Justin Herbert is already a franchise quarterback.

Strong-willed head coaches like Harbaugh have not been hired by the Chargers. To rebuild trust within the organization, a league executive believes they should go all in.

“They have been inexpensive, but they have opened their wallet to players because they realize they need to take action. According to Sando, the executive stated, “They have the new stadium and the money it brings in.” Nobody in the ownership would prevent Harbaugh from accepting the position. Given Harbaugh’s demeanor, they might change their minds after meeting with him, but they must act for the good of the community, the players, and the fans.”

This season, Los Angeles (5-12) was among the most disappointing teams in the league. With twenty-four points scored (20.4) and twenty-four points allowed (23.4) in the league, it finished outside the playoffs.

Hiring a driven coach with a successful track record could assist the team in making a turnaround. During his tenure as 49ers head coach from 2011 to 2014, Harbaugh amassed a 44-19-1 record and led San Francisco to the Super Bowl Bowl XLVII. Also, he has guided Michigan to three consecutive appearances in the College Football Playoffs.
