In January, Michigan quarterback JJ McCarthy received not one, but two rings that changed his life.
After leading the Wolverines to victory in the National Championship Game, McCarthy was awarded one ring. This past week, he proposed to his longtime girlfriend Katya Kuropas and received another ring.
The couple revealed pictures of their engagement to the public on Friday. Alongside their dog Marley, the couple posed by the water’s edge.
The couple wrote, “Me, You & Marley Forever & Ever,” as the caption for their photo.
Since 2018, McCarthy and Kuropas have been a couple.
As Michigan’s signal caller in his third season, McCarthy was extraordinarily effective. This past season, he had an outstanding 72.3% completion rate. With just four interceptions in his 2,991 yards of passing, he scored 22 touchdowns.
McCarthy seems to be an efficient player off the field as well. In the course of two weeks, he not only won two rings, but he also decided what to do with his NFL career. Starting in 2024, the man has been taking care of business.

Jim Harbaugh using NFL interest as leverage against Michigan?
Jim Harbaugh, the coach of Michigan, is still interviewing for NFL positions, but there is conjecture that there are ulterior motives behind his actions.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, some in the NFL think Harbaugh is using his NFL interest as leverage against Michigan in contract negotiations. It would make sense for Harbaugh to try to use a team like the Los Angeles Chargers to get the most money out of Michigan if his only concern is money.
That may make a return to Michigan more likely than initially believed. The only teams that have expressed interest in Harbaugh thus far are the Chargers and the Atlanta Falcons, who might consider him a backup plan in case they are unable to sign Bill Belichick. He may be able to receive more money at the collegiate level if it comes down to Michigan vs the Chargers.
However, there are additional factors at play here as well. It’s possible that Harbaugh wants to lead a team to a Super Bowl. In addition, there are additional circumstances at Michigan that he will need to take into account.
Basically, no one seems to know what Harbaugh is thinking or which way he is leaning, not even his own brother.
